Pull on your hiking boots and hit the trail

PUPILS at Horton Primary School put their best feet forward to launch a walking festival in the village.

All of the children in the village school went for a ramble to highlight the forthcoming festival, when walks and other events will be held over three days.

The festival has been organised by Horton and Little Sodbury Village Hall Association, with walks planned for people of all abilities. Among areas and buildings included in the routes are the National Trust's Horton Court and the Lower Woods nature reserve on Inglestone Common.

The programme runs from Friday, April 27, to Sunday, April 29, and also offers a Walking To Health special, a three-and-a-half mile run and a talk about trekking in Nepal.

Keen photographers also have the chance to practise their skills as Bristol photographer Rupert Marlow will run two workshops during a walk.

Details about the events are available on the website www.halsvh.org or by phoning 01454 312277. Anyone who wants to run a stall should phone 01454 317471 or 07732 649979.
